Chicago Surviors : The Community of Survivors provides families and youth with ongoing coping and empowerment workshops, drop-in hours, social events, memorial events, and anti-violence advocacy opportunities throughout the year. People who have suffered a violent loss meet together and learn new ways to cope with their loss and take steps providing peer support toward healing.
Rick Valicenti : Rick is currently the 2016-2017 Artist in Residence at Loyola University and since January, he has been leading a design and fine art initiative responding to the issues of Chicago Gun Violence with 20 seniors in their final semester. During these 15 weeks we have been blessed to have in our classroom, a victims father, Camiella Williams friend and family to 29 victims, Emory Douglas, Communication Minister of the original Black Panthers, both Aldermen, the head resident of the ER at Stroger Cook County, and many more local artists, activists and scholars. In response they have used their medium to respond. Rick is also the founder of Thirst. 3st.com and Moving Design.
Summer Coleman : Summer is currently a graphic intern at Thrist. 3st.com a communicaiton design firm and Blknd Graphics lead deisgner. Will be leading the workshops for this event.
