Redefining Redlining : Amanda Williams (design collaboration)

Redefining Redlining is an installation by artist Amanda Williams. In the fall of 2022, artist Williams, in collaboration with Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative, led hundreds of friends, neighbors, and strangers alike in a mass planting of 100,000 red tulips. These tulip-building footprints symbolize the value of the homes that used to be here and, more importantly, the worth of the people here now and the beautiful black neighborhoods that can be in the future.

The project needed a permanent home, look, and feel.
The website and other marketing and event items all have the same design theme for brand continuity and recognition purposes.

The CTA ads and signage also mimicked the style of the flyers and website for consistent appeal across the city. The event brand showcased the event as something the South Side could be proud of. The ad campaign ran on the Green Line in Chicago.
